25 Reasons Why Need For Speed Heat should absolutely be on your radar!

With a little over a month to go, Ghost Games is readying itself to launch a very important game. What makes Heat incredibly noteworthy is that the franchise celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, so this year's title had better be worth something worthwhile. Based on early impressions, we're in for a treat.

With that in mind, I have constructed 25 reasons (see what I did there?) Why Need For Speed Heat is shaping up to be a must-play, even if you have been disappointed by a number of installments released in the last decade.

1. Need For Speed Heat is set in Ghost's adaptation of Miami, Palm City. This city has been designed with being the Street Racer's ultimate playground.

2. Is Street Racing not your thing? Offroad races return from Need For Speed Payback...

3. ...As do drift events....

4. ... And drag races. It's worth mentioning that car classes based on race types have been scrapped, so it is up to you on how you tune your cars to compete in various events.

5. With traditional racing, you can take part in "Speedhunter Takeover" events which are heavily inspired by the ProStreet racing festival aesthetic.

6. When night time comes around, things get far more illicit. As with Underground games, races take place on the street, illegally.

7. Like the events, cops have split personas. During the day, they are lawful guardians of the road and play by the rules. Come nightfall, you encounter "crooked cops" who will do anything it takes to stop your grind.

8. With the return of the damage bar, you need to think strategically of how you are going to escape the cops without totaling your ride.

9. Oh, we are talking about cars now? Well, there's a lot to get through here. For starters, there are over 120 cars from launch.

10. Some of these cars include various editions of popular models. For instance, there are over seven variants of the Porsche 991 available.

11. Ferraris are back!

12. And this time, they are customisable. Much like your driver (a first for the series!)

13. To get a taster of how customisable some of the cars are, you can play around with the visual options on the Heat Studio App.

14. Performance upgrades have been given the works too. For starters, no more speed cards!

15. But upgrading isn't just a case of scrolling to equip the fastest parts for every car, you have you earn parts. "High Stakes" events (which merge illegal street races with police pursuits) give you better rewards.

16. Did I mention engine swaps?

17. Furthermore, we can expect the majority of cars to come with somewhere in the region of 7 to 10 options for engine swaps

18. How have I left it this late to talk about handling? That's been improved too.

19. Grip handling is actually a viable option for being competitive this time. A well-tuned grip car should be faster in a race event than any car with a drift setup. Happy days!

20. Online lobbies have seen their total player count allowance bumped up to 16 users

21. The graphics look stunning. Check out the in-game sample below!

22. You see the BMW M3 E46 above? That can be equipped with a 4.0 V8. Sound familiar?

23. If that's not nostalgic enough, the car list also includes the actual BMW M3 GTR from one of the most fondly remembered games of the series - Most Wanted 2005!

24. Launch isn't that far away; it's coming out November 8th.

25. If your budget allows for it, there is a super exclusive collectors edition!

Even with all that said, there is still plenty more to learn about the game. For instance, the theme of the story remains rather scarce and the soundtrack is yet to be revealed. However, what we already know about the same is enough to make me want to play the same right now. I said right now!
